Bijou House is located in the heart of Kansas City in an urban neighborhood where you can expect an eclectic mix of people. Please do not book if you do not feel comfortable in an urban environment. One of my favorite things about Kansas City are its old glorious buildings - which is why I fell in love with this 1880 Victorian charmer. This home has seen a lot in it's 100+ years - including it's latest renovation transforming the bathrooms & kitchen into luxury spaces. There are 3 bedrooms, each with 1 bed: Upstairs: 1 King, 1 Queen, Full Bath Downstairs: 1 King, 1/2 Bath A few games and a fun retro arcade are available for those rainy days when you want to stay home. On lovely days, enjoy the cozy backyard oasis with a gas grill for cooking & a gas firepit for relaxing.

FIRST TIME GUESTS: We love new guests & want to ensure the best experience! Guests without any reviews will be asked a few questions as well as asked for ID Verification through our system. Local guests without great reviews are not allowed. This space is specifically for visitors to Kansas City. PLEASE NOTE: Smoking or vaping of any kind is not allowed indoors. Smoking outside is fine provided waste is properly disposed of. Some guests with small children have felt this property was not the best fit given the proximity to the Westport Entertainment District, which can be lively on the weekends. Free rides to the River market, Downtown & the Plaza by way of the public streetcar, just 3 blocks away at Main & 39th St! Exterior cameras in front & back of home. Interior noise & smoke monitor in home.

Don't want to sound negative... and House Rules are necessary. ***Please read & agree to keep all HOUSE RULES before booking*** —Open invite gatherings are not allowed. Only guests that are listed on the reservation or have been approved by the host are allowed in the home or on the property. Violation of this rule will result in losing your entire security deposit. —Only guests listed on the reservation are permitted to stay overnight. Unapproved guests are an automatic $25 per guest/per day. —No pets allowed. —No smoking or vaping inside the house under any circumstances (including marijuana). —No illegal drugs or illegal activities on the property whatsoever. —Be careful when eating or drinking on furniture or beds. —Please respect the neighborhood by keeping all noise to a minimum. —Please be mindful to wipe or remove your shoes if it's muddy or wet outside. —With the exception of chairs, do not move or rearrange any furniture. —We welcome families, but our home is not child-proof. If you're staying with small children, feel free to move any household items out of reach. —Please use provided makeup wipes/towels to remove your makeup. $10 per towel will be charged for excessively soiled towels. —Excessive soil will be subject to an extra charge. Example: sticky floors, dirty dishes, bodily fluids, confetti, etc.... —Please do not attach decorations to walls. You will be subject to a charge for damages to drywall. —Do not place loose trash in outside trash bin. —If there are any signs of illegal activities, smoking inside the home, a party or event without consent of host, or violation of any other house rules, you may lose your entire security deposit. — We have a security camera at each entrance. They are always on and will be recording throughout your stay. The cameras do not record audio.

Neighborhood

Located in the HEART of Westport (Part of the original Westport settlement in the 1800s!) Walkable to many restaurants, bars & shopping. This is an URBAN neighborhood with an eclectic variety of people. If you are not open minded, this neighborhood may not be the right fit for your group. Some guests with young children do not feel this neighborhood is a fit.

Cute older house with vintage touches! Beds were comfortable and we had everything we could have wanted in the kitchen. Our son had a lot of fun with the arcade game! Jaymi was very easy to communicate with & prompt to respond.

One of the best stays I’ve had in KC!! I had an enormous conference event and this location was with in a mile from the event. Literally on the backside of Westport with tons of great restaurants. This place was amazing from the layout and design. The bathroom is amazingly done and with a foot claw tub! The size of this rental was perfect for me and my team. The host was very attentive and we had not concern for safety at any point. We will definitely be renting from them again in the future!

This cute house is a perfect, walkable location to enjoy many restaurants and bars. It’s central location in the city also serves as a great home base for exploring Kansas City. The host was very proactive during our stay, going above and beyond by shoveling snow and providing snowmelt. I would definitely recommend this home.
